What Changed, and What It Means for Your Business

Connecticut's updated privacy law expanded who it covers and shortened how long you have to fix a mistake. Here's what actually changed.

What This Means for You

If you collect customer names, emails, order histories, or run a marketing list, CTDPA likely already applies to you. As of July 1, the coverage threshold dropped from 100,000 Connecticut residents to 35,000, and the automatic 60-day grace period before penalties is gone.

Documentation is the practical defense: proof of what moved, when, and to whom. That's the part of your operation Priority Express already handles by default.

The businesses that get caught off guard by this aren't the ones without a privacy policy. They're the ones who haven't looked at it since it was written.
Where Priority Express Fits

Every run through Priority Express generates a timestamped electronic proof of delivery — signature capture, time of delivery, location confirmation, and driver ID — attached to your order record automatically. If a filing, contract, or shipment record is ever questioned, you're not reconstructing it from memory.

Not Sure Where You Stand?

Fifteen minutes with your account manager can tell you whether your current documentation actually covers you — or read the law straight from the source first.
